Telegram login help
Telegram login code not arriving by SMS?
The code may have been delivered inside Telegram on another device. Before requesting more messages or changing the number, check every phone, tablet and desktop session that is still signed in.

Open the verified Telegram service chat on an active device. If no active session exists, confirm the number uses international format with the correct country code. A two-step verification password is separate from the SMS login code.
Check in this order
- Active Telegram sessions.Telegram's FAQ says it may send the login code through Telegram instead of SMS when another session is available.
- International format.Use + followed by the country code and phone number without duplicating the country code.
- Two-step verification. If the screen asks for a password after the code, changing the number does not remove that password.
- Request frequency.Wait when Telegram displays a cooldown or too-many-attempts message.
When another number may help
Consider another supported region or number type only after Telegram confirms that an SMS was requested and no message arrives. For an account that matters, use a number you can retain and add a recovery email plus two-step verification after signing in.
Questions people ask
Why did Telegram not send an SMS?
An active Telegram session may have received the code inside the app instead.
Can a new number remove a forgotten two-step password?
No. The two-step password is a separate account security layer.
Should I keep requesting another code?
No. Repeated requests can invalidate earlier codes and may trigger a waiting period.
Use numbers only for accounts you own or are authorized to access. Never share Telegram login codes with anyone.
